The PRO Series cryptocurrency cold storage is a simple yet powerful cold storage solution. The new PRO Series is designed to meet the requirements of security experts and high-value investors, but it is simple enough for anyone who has experience using a cryptocurrency software or hardware wallet. Users jointly participate with Ballet in the two-factor private key generation process through the open-source BIP38 standard. This method enables us to produce a customized cold storage that can only be decrypted by a passphrase that you create, without your passphrase ever leaving the computer you used to generate the intermediate code.

Each PRO Series package contains three identical cold storages, so you can store physical backups in multiple locations. The physical cold storages are constructed of high-quality materials for exceptional durability and long-term storage.

Product Features

User-Created Passphrase

The encrypted private key can only be decrypted by the user-created passphrase. This is a trustless, two-factor security design based on the Bitcoin BIP38 open-source standard. The process utilizes advanced cryptography but the complexity is hidden from the user. You only need to follow a few basic steps. First, create a passphrase and use an open-source software tool to generate a BIP38 intermediate code. Then send the intermediate code to us and we manufacture a cold storage with an encrypted private key that can only be decrypted by the passphrase you used to generate the intermediate code. A BIP38 confirmation code is engraved on each cold storage so you can cryptographically verify that the encrypted private key can actually be decrypted by your passphrase.

Triple Backup

The PRO Series comes in a package of three identical cold storages, with only a different suffix (a, b, c) in the serial number. All three cold storages contain the exact same primary account deposit address, private key entropy, and BIP38 confirmation code. This allows you to store backups in multiple locations. Redundancy can preserve access to your funds in case of fire, theft, or other catastrophic event (if you remember your password). This is one of the most simple, elegant, and resilient backup solutions imaginable.

Multicurrency Support

The PRO Series cold storages can hold multiple cryptocurrencies and tokens at the same time. More than 100 of the most popular coins are supported, plus all ERC20 and BEP20 tokens. To activate additional cryptocurrencies or tokens on your cold storage, open the Ballet Crypto App, scan the deposit address QR code on your cold storage, tap “Manage,” then tap “Activate” for the one you want to add.

Warning

Verify your PRO Series cold storage using the BIP38 confirmation code before you deposit any cryptocurrency. This open-source software tool (https://www.balletcrypto.org/) allows you to cryptographically verify that your passphrase can actually decrypt the private key entropy. The verification process requires you to type in your passphrase entropy, so we strongly advise you to do this on a secure, offline computer.

Please note that the PRO Series cold storages do NOT contain the user-created passphrase and will NOT work without it. It is your personal responsibility to memorize or properly back up your passphrase. Human memory is fallible, so we strongly recommend that you keep a physical backup of your passphrase, in a separate location from the physical cold storage itself. If you lose your passphrase, you will lose access to all funds stored on the cold storage. Our company cannot help you reset the passphrase or recover the funds.
