Printed on a yellow sticker in QR code and text format, sealed beneath a tamper-evident silver sticker. Only needs to be revealed when sending assets for the first time.

Laser-etched onto the card and concealed under a scratch-off strip. Only needs to be revealed when sending assets for the first time.

03 · The Manufacturing Process
Two factories. Two continents. Ballet never held your private key.
Ballet's patented Two-Factor Key Generation (2FKG) process ensures that no single person — not even a Ballet employee — can ever access your complete private key. The two components are generated by separate teams in separate countries, and no individual can hold both at once.
The US facility generates the passphrase on an air-gapped, offline computer and passes only an intermediate code — never the passphrase itself — to the China facility. The China facility uses that code to produce the encrypted private key entropy and derive the deposit address, without ever seeing the passphrase. Products are then shipped back to the US, where the passphrase is laser-etched onto the card and covered with a scratch-off strip. All digital data is deleted and overwritten immediately after.
The private key is never created at the factory. It only comes into existence when you open the card and combine both components yourself — on your device, for the first and only time.
